“We Were Talking for a Couple of Months”
Reflecting on their connection, Gupta admitted, “Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months.” She explained that both were in a tentative phase: “Maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t,” but the dynamic ended before they ever entered a formal dating stage.
She further remarked: “We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended”. With no drama or baggage attached, Gupta emphasized that it simply “wasn’t meant to be”.
Public Speculation vs. Private Reality
Rumors tying the two surfaced in 2018, coinciding with cricket-fueled fanfare around Hardik Pandya’s rising stardom. For years, whispers persisted. Yet, in her interview, Gupta stressed that their exchange never evolved beyond casual conversations. She said: “It ended before we even reached the dating stage”.
This clarification marks the end of a protracted period of media speculation. Over the past week, multiple platforms have brought their readership into this narrative, all carrying similar quotes from the actress—now reaffirmed by Gupta herself.
No Drama, No Bitterness
Gupta was quick to downplay any sense of scandal. Denying bitterness or unresolved tension, she maintained: “There was no drama or bitterness. It just wasn’t meant to be”.
Her comments also touched on how dates came and went quietly, with only limited in-person meetings. According to Gupta, their relationship remained amicable and unpressured—essentially extinguishing rumours speculating on a full-fledged romance.
Media Backlash and Commentary on Koffee With Karan
It’s worth recalling that in 2019, Hardik Pandya faced heavy criticism following comments he made on Koffee with Karan—remarks that were widely considered controversial. Gupta was among those who publicly voiced disappointment at his behaviour.
However, she clarified in the interview that she was not in direct contact with him at the time of the controversy. Thus, the incident had no direct impact on their brief personal connection.
Career Focus and Moving On
Esha Gupta, whose recent work includes Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 and One Day: Justice Delivered, spoke of her ability to separate personal matters from professional motivation.
Expressing a desire to refocus on her acting, she emphasized respect toward Hardik but made it clear that the two had moved on. She affirmed that setting the record straight was important to her amid persistent speculation.
By addressing the rumours directly, Esha Gupta hopes to transition the narrative away from tabloid romance and back to her craft—one role at a time.
