Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch laid a trap and detained the accused near the Dockyard on Thursday. Upon his search, three pistols, as many magazines and 10 live rounds were seized from his possession.
The pistols were of high-quality indigenous make, the official said.
The accused confessed to have come to the city to sell the weapons, and was suspected to be part of an interstate illegal arms syndicate, the official said.
