South Indian superstar Prabhas is all set to return to the big screen with the upcoming horror-comedy film “The Raja Saab”, which is scheduled to hit theatres on December 5, 2025, as confirmed by producer TG Vishwa Prasad in an interview with India Today.

Directed by Maruthi, the film is being produced under the banners of People Media Factory and B4U Motion Pictures, with AA Films handling distribution.

We are planning ‘The Raja Saab 2.’ It will not be a sequel or continuation, but an entirely new story… something like a multiverse,” said Vishwa Prasad to Great Andhra — a statement by multiple media outlets.

Runtime Revealed, Post-Production in Final Stages

The producer revealed that the current raw cut of the film runs over four-and-a-half hours, and they are working to trim it down for theatrical release. The final version is expected to be locked by October-end, with patchwork shoots and VFX-intensive work ongoing.

“We might bring it down to 3 hours 15 minutes or 2 hours 45 minutes — it’s the director’s call,” Prasad said in his interview.

Confirmed cast members of The Raja Saab include:

  1. Prabhas
  2. Sanjay Dutt
  3. Nidhhi Agerwal
  4. Malavika Mohanan
  5. Riddhi Kumar

Crew:

  1. Director: Maruthi
  2. Music: Thaman S
  3. Cinematography: Karthik Palani
  4. Editing: Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao

The official teaser was released on June 16, showcasing a horror-comedy setting with high visual effects and folklore-inspired aesthetics.

Release Date Finalised Amid Early Speculations

Although there were earlier talks of a possible Sankranthi 2026 release (January 9), TG Vishwa Prasad has officially confirmed that December 5, 2025 remains the locked release date, particularly to appeal to the Hindi circuit.

Quality Control for VFX and Audience Expectations

In response to rising scrutiny over VFX quality in Indian films, Prasad acknowledged that a dedicated post-production team is working to ensure the final output meets audience expectations.

“If people are connected to the story or songs, they will forgive VFX. If not, they’ll troll it,” said Prasad.

Final Word

As “The Raja Saab” prepares for a big-screen showdown in December, the entertainment landscape promises a power-packed end to 2025. With cinema icons returning to their roots, expectations are sky-high — and this time, backed by solid production, confirmed dates, and veteran star power.
