In a recent development, producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh will not be part of the much-anticipated sequel, No Entry 2. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee, was slated to commence shooting in October 2025, featuring a refreshed cast with Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. However, Dosanjh’s exit has raised questions about the project’s progress.
Scheduling Conflicts Lead to Departure
Kapoor clarified that Dosanjh’s departure was due to scheduling conflicts rather than any creative differences. In an interview with NDTV, he stated, “Yes, we have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning with our requirements; hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together.” Reports indicate that Dosanjh’s packed schedule, including his Aura Tour across Australia and New Zealand from October 26 to November 13, clashed with the film’s shoot. Currently, he is balancing back-to-back projects with his international tours.
Director Anees Bazmee’s Perspective
Earlier, director Anees Bazmee had addressed rumors surrounding Dosanjh’s exit. In June 2025, he clarified that the actor’s departure was solely due to scheduling issues and expressed hope that the matter would be resolved. Bazmee remained optimistic about the film’s progress despite the setback.
Challenges in Casting the Original Trio
The sequel to the 2005 comedy classic No Entry has faced challenges in retaining the original cast. Producer Boney Kapoor expressed regret over not being able to bring back Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan for the sequel. He mentioned that they waited for nearly 8 to 10 years for the original trio to reunite but it couldn’t materialize. Kapoor acknowledged, “Yeh humara loss hai that we could not retain the same star cast. We waited for almost 8 to 10 years, but somehow things didn’t materialize. We will miss them.” He added that the team is now focusing on a fresh start with a younger cast.
Looking Ahead
Despite the challenges, the team behind No Entry 2 remains committed to delivering a successful sequel. With Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor leading the cast, the film aims to capture the essence of the original while introducing new elements to engage audiences. Fans are hopeful that the project will overcome its hurdles and live up to the expectations set by its predecessor.
