Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s Chemistry Becomes Highlight of ‘Tere Ishk Mein’

Bollywood is set for a fresh pairing as Kriti Sanon and Dhanush gear up for their first collaboration in the upcoming film ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, directed by Aanand L. Rai. The film, scheduled to release on November 28, 2025, marks a significant moment for both actors, particularly for Dhanush, who is returning to Hindi cinema after his memorable stint in ‘Raanjhanaa’. With music composed by acclaimed AR Rahman and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, the project carries considerable expectations from audiences and industry observers alike.

Chemistry Built on Unfamiliarity

What makes this on-screen pairing particularly intriguing is the fact that Sanon and Dhanush had never met before stepping onto the film’s sets. This genuine unfamiliarity between the actors mirrored the narrative of their characters- Mukti, a city girl played by Sanon, and Shankar, a boy from Varanasi portrayed by Dhanush. The synchronicity between the actors’ real-life first meeting and their characters’ initial unfamiliarity created an organic foundation for their performances.

Speaking about this fortuitous alignment, Sanon reflected on how it enhanced their work together. “He really brings out a lot of layers in his character, and I was very excited to work with him. I knew I was going to have an actor who I could really feed off from. That is exactly what happened. And we had not met before, and even Shankar and Mukti, in the film, at one point had not met before, so that worked out!” she explained in an interview.

Collaborative Artistry and On-Set Dynamics

Throughout the filming process, Sanon emphasised the deeply collaborative nature of working with Dhanush. She highlighted how their mutual commitment to their craft resulted in what she described as “magical moments” during the shoot. The actor recalled instances where both performers felt the energy of a particularly impactful scene, recognizing in real-time when they had created something special.

“We have some really intense scenes, a lot of really long scenes that can, you know, translate when both of us feed off each other. He’s really collaborative as an actor and really helpful. I think together we have created some magical moments and felt it when the scene happened. Both of us would look at each other, and we were like, ‘That was a good scene!’ I have really enjoyed working with him and I hope we do a lot more work in the future,” Sanon shared.

Praise for Dhanush’s Craft

Sanon’s admiration for Dhanush’s technical prowess and artistic approach was evident throughout her remarks. She attributed part of the film’s success to his nuanced performance style and extensive experience in the industry. Beyond his acting credentials, Dhanush’s background as a film director has given him a comprehensive understanding of how scenes translate to the screen, a perspective that Sanon found invaluable during their collaborations.

“I think Dhanush is an incredible actor. I have always been an admirer of his talent and his craft. I feel he has a very strong hold on his craft. He’s very nuanced; he also directed a lot of films, and comes from a lot of experience and understanding of scenes and how it will translate on the screen,” she noted.

Production and Spiritual Continuity

‘Tere Ishk Mein’ is produced by Aanand L. Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, with the screenplay penned by Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. Director Rai has positioned the film as a spiritual sequel to his earlier work ‘Raanjhanaa,’ suggesting thematic or stylistic connections that loyal fans of the director may recognize. The film will release in both Hindi and Tamil versions, broadening its reach across regional audiences.

With Sanon and Dhanush’s evident chemistry, Rahman’s musical compositions, and Rai’s directorial vision, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ appears poised to make a significant impact when it hits screens on November 28, 2025.
