The sixth edition of the Filmfare OTT Awards returned to Mumbai on December 15, 2025, celebrating standout work across streaming series, web original films and non-fiction titles. The ceremony—hosted by Sayani Gupta and Amol Parashar at JW Marriott, Mumbai—brought together actors, creators and technicians for an evening that underlined just how competitive India’s OTT slate has become.
The night’s biggest winner: Black Warrant
Netflix’s Black Warrant emerged as the top series of the night, winning Best Series.
The show also secured Best Director (Series), with the directing honour credited to Vikramaditya Motwane, Satyanshu Singh, Arkesh Ajay, Ambiecka Pandit and Rohin Raveendran.
In acting honours, Zahan Kapoor won Best Actor (Male), Series (Critics): Drama for Black Warrant, while Rahul Bhat picked up Best Supporting Actor (Male): Drama for the series.
Paatal Lok Season 2 dominates the critics’ conversation
While Black Warrant led the overall wins, Prime Video’s Paatal Lok Season 2 took the critics’ crown, winning Best Series (Critics).
The show’s signature grit was also rewarded with Jaideep Ahlawat winning Best Actor (Male): Drama for his performance as Hathi Ram.
Adding to the tally, Tillotama Shome won Best Supporting Actor (Female): Drama for Paatal Lok Season 2.
Writing honours also went to the series: Sudip Sharma shared Best Story (Series) (joint winner), and the show won Best Original Screenplay (Series) credited to Sudip Sharma, Abhishek Banerjee, Rahul Kanojia and Tamal Sen.
Key acting wins: drama and comedy
The drama categories showcased a strong mix of performance-led storytelling:
- Monika Panwar won Best Actor (Female): Drama for Khauf.
- Rasika Dugal won Best Actor (Female), Series (Critics): Drama for Shekhar Home.
On the comedy side, Raat Jawaan Hai won Best Comedy (Series/Specials).
The Best Actor (Male): Comedy honour was a joint win for Barun Sobti (Raat Jawaan Hai) and Sparsh Shrivastava (Dupahiya).
Ananya Panday won Best Actor (Female): Comedy for Call Me Bae.
Supporting comedy wins included Vinay Pathak (Gram Chikitsalay) and Renuka Shahane (Dupahiya).
Web original films: Girls Will Be Girls leads
The web original film categories saw Girls Will Be Girls take the top prize, winning Best Film (Web Original).
Director Shuchi Talati won Best Director (Web Original Film) for the same title.
Acting honours in web original films went to:
- Abhishek Banerjee — Best Actor (Male), Web Original Film for Stolen
- Sanya Malhotra — Best Actor (Female), Web Original Film for Mrs
Critics’ awards in films went to:
- Boman Irani — Best Web Original Film (Critics) for The Mehta Boys
- Vikrant Massey — Best Actor (Male), Critics (Web Original Film) for Sector 36
- Preeti Panigrahi — Best Actor (Female), Critics (Web Original Film) for Girls Will Be Girls
Non-fiction spotlight
In the non-fiction segment, Angry Young Men (Namrata Rao) won Best (Non-Fiction) Original (Series/Special).

From hard-edged crime drama (Paatal Lok 2, Black Warrant) to mainstream comedy (Raat Jawaan Hai, Call Me Bae), and from debut-driven indie energy (Girls Will Be Girls) to big-ticket genre titles, the Filmfare OTT Awards 2025 winners list reflected a streaming ecosystem that is no longer “alternate”—it is central.
