Singer-composer Amaal Mallik has addressed online speculation linking him romantically with Bigg Boss 19 co-contestant Tanya Mittal, urging fans to stop turning their on-screen moments into a “love story.” Amaal issued the clarification in a detailed note shared on X (formerly Twitter), after clips from the show—particularly a dance/performance moment—resurfaced online and reignited chatter around their equation.
“Bhai, Yeh Ek Task Tha”
In his message, Amaal underlined that many pairings and interactions on reality TV are task-driven and shaped by a show’s format and creative requirements. “Bhai yeh ek ‘TASK’ tha,” he wrote, explaining that contestants often participate in skits, dances, and pair tasks as part of the programme’s flow, and that such moments should not be misconstrued as romance.
Amaal’s Plea: Privacy Over Gossip
Amaal also acknowledged Tanya’s support during the season and apologised for anything he said that may have hurt her or her fans. He thanked her for the “care and concern” she showed him during the show and admitted that he had said things “in anger,” adding that such moments can become points of self-reflection.
A Lesson in Fan Boundaries
Making his stance explicit, Amaal appealed to supporters on both sides to end mudslinging and respect personal boundaries. He cautioned that repeatedly linking Tanya with him could unfairly impact her public image, stating that no woman deserves to be put through that.
Respecting the Real
With reality TV often blurring the line between performance and perception, Amaal’s note serves as a reminder that camaraderie and teamwork on-screen do not automatically translate into off-screen relationships. His message: appreciate the friendship—but don’t build narratives at the cost of someone’s space and reputation.
