Madhavan, have firmly dismissed the buzz, confirming the absence of any official discussions or approaches. They have also refuted reports of a locked script and a 2026 shoot.

Speculation peaked with claims of a script ready, titled 4 Idiots, and filming from mid-2026, reuniting Aamir, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and Kareena Kapoor. In interviews with Bollywood Hungama, Madhavan called the idea “great but far-fetched,” noting: “All three of us are much older now. Where do we go in the sequel? What are our lives like now? It is an intriguing thought, but hardly conducive to a proper sequel… 3 Idiots again? I think that would be idiotic.” He expressed eagerness to work with Hirani again but questioned revisiting the story.

Aamir’s Response: Fond Memories, No Approach

Aamir echoed the sentiment, cherishing Rancho’s enduring popularity: “We had so much fun making that film! People still talk about Rancho. So, I’d love to do a sequel. But no one has approached me.” Sharman Joshi earlier deferred to Hirani and Aamir for any potential.
