Mumbai, Jan 13 (PTI) House of Hiranandani has released an AI-led visualisation titled “Future Routes, Future Thane” to showcase how upcoming transport infrastructure projects are expected to improve connectivity from Thane over the next few years.
The film uses AI-generated images and videos, combined with government-approved project data, to illustrate how new tunnels, metro lines, expressways and airport corridors could significantly reduce travel time between Thane and key parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Anchored around House of Hiranandani’s Westgate project in Thane, the initiative is aimed at helping prospective homebuyers assess the long-term impact of planned infrastructure on daily mobility, connectivity and overall liveability.
The visualisation highlights seven major transport corridors expected to converge around Thane, positioning it as a well-connected residential hub within the MMR. It emphasises the availability of multiple access routes rather than dependence on a single road or rail line, a long-standing challenge for commuters in the region.
This infrastructure-led transformation aligns with the Government of India’s Vision 2030, which focuses on developing future-ready cities through integrated mobility, multi-modal transport systems and transit-oriented development. Under this vision, large-scale investments in metros, highways, expressways and airport corridors aim to reduce congestion, improve commute reliability and support decentralised urban growth across the MMR.
Projects such as Metro Routes 4 and 5, the Thane–Borivali Twin Tube Tunnel and the Thane–Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) elevated road reflect this broader objective of infrastructure planning that enhances everyday mobility, economic access and long-term liveability.
According to House of Hiranandani, the combined impact of these projects goes beyond shorter travel times. Improved connectivity is expected to make employment hubs, commercial centres and social infrastructure more accessible, while also reducing daily travel uncertainty for residents.
Unlike traditional real estate communication, the AI-based film relies on verified infrastructure data rather than lifestyle imagery. It overlays planned routes, project timelines and traffic simulations to demonstrate how congestion levels may change as new corridors become operational.
“Homes are increasingly being evaluated on connectivity and commute predictability,” said Prashin Jhobalia, Chief Marketing Officer, House of Hiranandani. “This visualisation uses AI and publicly available data to show how upcoming infrastructure can impact daily travel, helping buyers make more informed decisions.”
The connectivity framework presented for Thane mirrors transit-led development models seen in cities such as Singapore and London, where large-scale infrastructure investments have supported residential growth and sustained demand.
As Mumbai’s growth increasingly spreads across multiple centres, infrastructure-led planning is expected to play a larger role in residential decision-making, with daily mobility emerging as a key factor for urban homebuyers.
Key infrastructure projects highlighted include the Thane–Borivali Twin Tube Tunnel, expected to reduce travel time by around 40 minutes; Mumbai Metro Line 4 (Wadala–Kasarvadavali), with an estimated 35-minute reduction; Mumbai Metro Line 5 (Thane–Bhiwandi–Kalyan), expected to cut travel time by about 50 minutes; the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project for faster intra-city movement; the 13.45-km Thane Coastal Road from Balkum to Gaimukh, reducing travel time by around 15 minutes; the NMIA elevated road, expected to cut airport travel time by 45 minutes; and the Eastern Freeway Extension, offering a signal-free corridor with an estimated 45-minute reduction.
