All-Party Meeting Underway Ahead of Parliament’s Budget Session

New Delhi, Jan 27 (PTI): An all-party meeting is currently underway in the national capital to discuss measures for ensuring the smooth functioning of both Houses during the upcoming Budget session of Parliament. The meeting is being chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju among the attendees. Opposition leaders, including Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, are also participating.

The first part of the session will commence on Wednesday with the address of President Droupadi Murmu to a joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, while the Union Budget is scheduled for presentation on February 1, a Sunday. This part of the session will continue until February 13, during which the Motion of Thanks will be discussed and passed, along with discussions on the Union Budget.

Following a recess, both Houses will reconvene on March 9, with the session set to conclude on April 2.
