“The 50” Unveils Full 50-Celebrity Lineup Ahead of February 1 Premiere

The 50, positioned as one of the biggest captive reality formats in India, has revealed its full 50-member contestant roster days before launch. Produced by Banijay Asia for JioHotstar and Colors TV, the show premieres on February 1, 2026.

What is “The 50”?

Adapted from Banijay’s international format The Fifty, based on B Prod’s French hit Les Cinquante, the series places 50 celebrities into a single controlled environment where survival depends on performance, alliances, and social strategy.

Unlike conventional reality shows that rely mainly on weekly nominations, The 50 leans into constant gameplay. Reports around the format highlight a masked game master figure known as The Lion, with an emphasis on unpredictability—where even stated rules can shift mid-game.

When and where to watch

The show begins February 1, with the first drop streaming at 9:00 PM IST on JioHotstar, followed by a 10:30 PM telecast on Colors TV.

The format twist: fans don’t just watch — they influence outcomes

A key hook being pushed around the launch is a fan-powered engagement layer, where audiences can back favourites through app-led participation and potentially win a share linked to contestant success.

Contestant lineup: 50 names across TV, reality, and digital

The cast blends television faces, reality-show regulars, and digital creators—building a high-volume ensemble where popularity and gameplay can collide.

Why the show could feel different

Beyond scale, the differentiator is the show’s always-on competitive design—with eliminations and shifting power dynamics expected across a long run (one executive quote has pegged the arc at approximately 50 episodes).
