Kelly Clarkson has announced she will step away from daily television as The Kelly Clarkson Show prepares to conclude after its current seventh season. Clarkson shared the decision in an Instagram post, saying she wants to focus more fully on her two children, River Rose (11) and Remington “Remy” Alexander (9).
What she said
In her message, Clarkson indicated that the shift is about reclaiming time and presence at home. She wrote that stepping away from the show’s daily schedule would allow her to prioritise her kids “for this next chapter of our lives.”
Context behind the decision
The announcement comes after the death of Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who died in August 2025 at age 48 following a cancer battle, according to multiple reports. Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2022 and share two children.
A major daytime run
Premiering in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show became a steady daytime hit—anchored by celebrity interviews, human-interest segments and Clarkson’s signature “Kellyoke.” The series also earned multiple Daytime Emmy wins over its run.
What happens next
NBC-linked reporting indicates the show will wrap after Season 7, with episodes continuing to air through fall 2026. Clarkson has also suggested she will continue making music and may still appear on television occasionally, including possible future moments on The Voice.
