New Delhi, Feb 17: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates will not attend the AI Impact Summit, government sources said on Tuesday.
Gates had been listed among the speakers on the summit’s official website for the event being held in the national capital from February 16 to 20. However, his name was not visible on the website on Tuesday.
Government sources said Gates will not be attending the summit, linking the development to his name figuring in newly released files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Gates has not been accused of wrongdoing by any of Epstein’s victims. The documents include a claim attributed to Epstein, which Gates’s spokesperson has denied, calling it “absolutely absurd”.
Separately, Nvidia said late last week that its CEO Jensen Huang will not travel to India to attend the summit. The company did not cite a reason, though some linked his absence to Gates’s participation earlier being listed for the event.
