BMC Clears Move to Blacklist Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios Over ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Shoot Violations; ₹1 Lakh Penalty Proposed

Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), has cleared action to blacklist filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production banner (B62 Studios/B62 Productions) and two applicants linked to shoot permissions after alleged violations during the Mumbai schedule of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, as per reports. The proposed action includes a ₹1 lakh penalty and forfeiture of a ₹25,000 security deposit.

What triggered the crackdown

According to officials quoted in reports, the latest flashpoint came during a night shoot on February 14 in South Mumbai’s heritage Fort area, where the crew allegedly used lit fire torches (mashals) despite having submitted a written undertaking that fire effects would be added via VFX. Following complaints, Mumbai Police reportedly seized five torches from the site and the team was told to discontinue the use of fire equipment.

Authorities also cited additional alleged breaches — including filming on a building terrace without specific permission and the use of two generator vans without required approvals — while recommending the monetary penalty and other punitive steps.

What “blacklisting” means (and the key catch)

As described in reports, the three entities named — Komal Pokhriyal/Pokhariyal, Nasir Khan, and the B62 production house — would be barred from applying for shoot permissions on the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation (MFSCDC) portal.

However, a crucial nuance flagged in coverage is that the restriction applies to the named applicants — meaning permissions may still be routed via a fourth applicant/partner (for example, a co-producer), potentially limiting the practical disruption to the ongoing schedule.

Will this affect the March 19 release?

So far, there is no official indication that the film’s March 19, 2026 theatrical release is being pushed. Reports also note that a spokesperson for B62 Studios declined to comment on the matter.
