Veteran Marathi and Hindi film and television actress Pravina Deshpande passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 60, after a long battle with cancer. The news was confirmed by her family through a statement shared on her official social media.
Pravina was remembered by mainstream audiences for her supporting appearance in the 2011 hit Ready, where she featured in the joint-family track opposite Salman Khan and Asin—a brief role, but one that added warmth to the film’s family portions.
Beyond Ready, she built a steady body of work across Hindi and Marathi films, television, theatre and digital projects. She also featured in films such as Ek Villain and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, and remained active on screen in recent years, with reports noting her last appearance in the OTT series Taskaree.

Colleagues and viewers remembered her for her sincerity—an actor who could make even small moments feel lived-in, human and real.
A Quiet Fighter
Several reports described her illness as blood cancer / multiple myeloma, and noted that she had been battling health issues for years.
As per the family statement carried by media reports, her cremation took place the same day (Feb 17) at 3:00 pm at the Hindu Crematorium, Chakala Parsiwada, Andheri East, Mumbai.
