Fatehpur (UP), Feb 26 (PTI) Three men were killed and two others seriously injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in the Sultanpur Ghosh area here, police said on Thursday.
Khaga Circle Officer Durgesh Deep said the accident occurred around 7 pm on Wednesday near a brick kiln in the area under the Hathgaon Police Station jurisdiction.
He identified the victims as Arvind, 23, Durgesh, 30, and Kamlesh, 45. Ramu and Motilal, aged 33 and 40, sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment.
According to the police, Ramu from Mawai village under Husainganj Police Station area was riding a motorcycle with his nephew, Arvind, to attend a wedding in Kallanpur village.
On the other hand, Durgesh of Taura village, Kamlesh of Bhairwan Kalan, and Motilal of Mohammadpur Gaunti were also on their way to attend a wedding in Shahpur village on another motorcycle.
None of the five riders was wearing helmets, Deep said. PTI COR ABN VN VN
