The official trailer for the folklore thriller Charak: Fair of Faith was unveiled on February 26, 2026, sparking discussion online. Backed by producer Sudipto Sen (of The Kerala Story and Bastar: The Naxal Story fame) and directed by Shieladitya Moulik, the film explores the unsettling intersection of devotion, superstition, and extremism against the backdrop of the Charak mela.

The trailer shows a community preparing for the sacred fair—seen as their final hope to fulfil long-pending wishes—as the rituals grow more intense and the story begins questioning the fine line between faith and fanaticism, and devotion and destruction.

Cast and Credits

The film features an ensemble cast including Anjali Patil, Sahidur Rahaman, Subrat Dutta, Shashi Bhushan, Nalneesh Neel, Shankhadeep, and Shounak Shyamal. It is presented by PEN Studios (Jayantilal Gada) and produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Sipping Tea Cinemas, in association with Sudipto Sen Productions.

CBFC update

Reports indicate the film faced certification hurdles earlier, and was later approved by the review panel with suggested alterations, as per statements attributed to the makers.
