Karan Johar-produced Dhadak 2 (2025), starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, has found an unexpected afterlife on elite US campuses, with screenings at Ivy League universities including Yale and Brown. The film—directed by Shazia Iqbal—has been featured in campus screening and discussion settings, prompting conversations around contemporary Indian cinema and caste representation.

At Yale University, the film was screened on February 16, 2026, at Luce Hall (Room 101) as part of a listed Film at Yale screening. A follow-up campus discussion with Shazia Iqbal and writer Rahul Badwelkar was held on February 17, 2026, at Luce Hall (Room 203), presented by Yale’s South Asian Studies Council.

Reports also note that Brown University hosted a screening on February 19, 2026, at the Watson School of International and Public Affairs.

Karan Johar’s Proud Reaction

Producer Karan Johar celebrated the moment on February 26, 2026, via Instagram Stories, writing:

“Dhadak 2 being screened at all the IVY league universities is such a great moment of pride for us @dharmamovies…”

He credited director Shazia Iqbal, calling her an “important voice and storyteller,” and adding that she is the “soul” of the film.

What’s Next

According to reports, the campus run is set to continue with upcoming screenings at Columbia University (March 1, Alfred Lerner Hall) and Princeton University (March 5, East Pyne Building).
