
Agartala, Mar 11 (PTI) Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for an intercity train between Narangi near Guwahati and Agartala.
The Northeast Frontier Railway, in a notification on Tuesday, announced that the intercity train service would commence on March 13. The train would halt at several important stations, including Jagiroad, Hojai, Lumding, New Haflong, Badarpur, New Karimganj, Dharmanagar, Kumarghat and Ambassa.
“A train service between Narangi and Agartala is set to be flagged off on March 13. The train service will boost the connectivity significantly,” Chowdhury said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
“I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Manik Saha for the move,” he added.
The service is expected to benefit passengers travelling between Assam’s Barak Valley and the hill districts, and Tripura by providing improved connectivity and convenient travel options. PTI PS ACD
