Mathura (UP), Mar 16 (PTI) A four-year-old boy allegedly drowned in a septic tank at an under-construction house in Kosikalan town here, police said on Monday.
The tank was being used to store water for construction work, they said.
Station House Officer Rajkamal Singh said the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon.
He said the victim, the four-year-old son of Rajesh Saini, a resident of Saini Mohalla, wandered into the under-construction portion of the house while playing and accidentally fell into the septic tank filled with water.
The incident came to light when some children passing by noticed the child inside the tank and raised an alarm.
He was pulled out and attempts were made to revive him by administering CPR, but to no avail, the officer said.
The victim was subsequently rushed to a doctor, who declared him dead, he added. PTI COR ABN ARB ARB
