Ayodhya (UP), Mar 19 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Thursday said building a strong and capable nation depends not only on policies but also on the character of its citizens, asserting that India’s cultural ethos has always stood for harmony rather than dominance.

Addressing a gathering in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after installation of Ram Yantra at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Patel said Ayodhya has evolved into a living symbol of faith, devotion and the eternal flow of Sanatan culture.

“Building a strong and capable nation depends not only on policies but also on the character of its citizens. When the spirit of ‘nation first’ becomes integral to every Indian, a truly developed and spiritually enriched India will emerge,” she said.

Patel said Ayodhya is a land where faith becomes history, devotion transforms into values, and bhakti evolves into national consciousness. “Ayodhya is a living symbol of faith, devotion and the eternal flow of Sanatan culture. Every particle of the holy land reflects dignity, religion and ideals,” she added.

Referring to the Ram temple consecration in 2024, Patel recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “dev se desh” (god to country) and said the vision has now become the foundation of India’s cultural renaissance. “A renewed sense of confidence and energy is visible among crores of citizens, moving the country towards the dream of a developed India,” she said.

Describing the consecration of Ram Lalla as a historic and deeply emotional moment, she said witnessing the divine occasion was a matter of great fortune, an experience beyond the limits of words.

Emphasising the inclusive nature of Indian civilisation, Patel said the country’s cultural ethos has always stood for harmony rather than dominance. “Our faith does not divide but opens hearts and lights the lamp of love. India’s strength lies in creation, compassion and connecting society,” she said, citing ideals like “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family) and “Satyameva Jayate” (truth alone triumphs).
