Hazaribag(Jharkhand), Mar 19 (PTI) A man from Jharkhand’s Hazaribag district working in a private company at Muscat in Oman died in a road mishap, an official said on Thursday.
Team leader of the state migrant control cell, Shikha Lakra, told PTI that family members of the deceased worker, Pradeep Kumar (24), approached the Hazaribag district administration for help in bringing back the body.
“We got the information from Hazaribag district administration on Thursday and have spoken to the family members of the deceased and sought the documents of the deceased worker to start the process of consultation with the Indian Consulate authorities in Oman and the private company for bringing back the body,” said Lakra.
The family members had approached Sikander Ali, a social worker who works for the cause of migrant workers from Jharkhand.
“The father of the deceased, Punas Mahato, informed me that the deceased, a native of Jabar village under Bishnugarh police station, was working on laying of transmission lines in Oman,” said Ali.
He said that a few days back, Pradeep Kumar had fallen critically ill and had been admitted to a hospital for treatment and had recovered and was returning to his residential place in Oman after being discharged from the hospital when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road on Wednesday night and died on the spot.
