Gangtok, Mar 24 (PTI) The Sikkim government on Tuesday carried out disposal of seized contraband substances in Namchi district, officials said.
The District Level Drug Disposal Committee conducted the exercise using an incinerator facility – a waste treatment device – ensuring adherence to prescribed safety, environmental and legal protocols, they said.
The disposed drugs included 240 gm brown sugar and 1,040 cough syrup bottles seized during various operations conducted between 2018 and 2025, an official release said.
The exercise was conducted at the District Hospital in Namchi. PTI CORR RBT
