Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mar 27 (PTI) Authorities in Hingoli and Parbhani districts on Friday withdrew fuel purchase cap orders issued a day earlier to tackle long queues at pumps following speculation and rumours about shortage of petrol, diesel and gas stocks amid the West Asia crisis.

As per the orders issued in the two places on Thursday, the fuel purchase cap for two-wheelers was set at Rs 200, while it was Rs 2000 for three and four-wheelers.

“Fuel is available in ample quantities. Therefore, the earlier order was revoked today. The cap on fuel purchase has been removed,” an official said.

Meanwhile, Nanded collector Rahul Kardile held a meeting with fuel pump owners on Friday and asked them to keep adequate stock.

During the meeting, fuel pump owners said oil depots (from where oil marketing firms supply fuel to such pumps) must remain open on Sundays.

A release from the district administration said Kardile instructed police to give necessary protection to the pumps for smooth operations. PTI AW BNM
