Shillong, Mar 31 (PTI) The opposition Voice of the People Party on Tuesday named Batskhem Myrboh as its candidate for the by-election to the Shillong Lok Sabha constituency.

The decision was taken by the VPP’s State Executive Committee, party leaders said.

The seat has fallen vacant following the death of the incumbent MP, Ricky AJ Syngkon, on February 19, but the Election Commission is yet to announce a bypoll here.

The party called upon its members to work collectively to ensure a decisive victory for Myrboh in the bypoll. PTI JOP SOM
