DC Studios released the official trailer for Supergirl on March 31, 2026, giving fans their most detailed look yet at the upcoming superhero film ahead of its theatrical release on June 26, 2026. Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, the movie draws inspiration from Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s acclaimed Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic.

Cosmic Action and Emotional Stakes

The trailer showcases a visually expansive interstellar adventure centered on Kara Zor-El, played by Milly Alcock. This version of Supergirl appears more emotionally scarred and rough-edged than earlier screen versions, with the story following her as she joins Ruthye Marye Knoll on a revenge-driven journey across the galaxy. The footage also reveals that Krypto the Superdog plays a major role in the plot.

Big Reveals in the Trailer

Among the standout moments are glimpses of Jason Momoa as Lobo, marking his DCU debut in the role, as well as David Corenswet returning as Superman. The supporting cast includes Eve Ridley as Ruthye, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze.

Fans React Positively

The trailer has generated strong online excitement, with much of the conversation focusing on Milly Alcock’s presence, the film’s darker emotional tone, and the arrival of Lobo in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s revamped DC Universe. With its June 26 release drawing closer, Supergirl is shaping up to be one of the summer’s most closely watched superhero releases.
