Jaipur, Apr 1 (PTI) A government school teacher died after her scooter collided with an SUV in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district while she was heading to work on Wednesday morning, police said.

The accident occurred on Chirawa Road in Pilani when the woman was crossing the road. CCTV footage of the accident has also surfaced, they said.

Pilani Station House Officer Chandrabhan said Damyanti Chanwaria (45), a teacher posted at a government upper primary school, died in the accident.

“She had left home on her scooter to go to duty when the collision took place,” he said.

The SUV was being driven by Manoj Saini, a resident of Laxmi Colony in Pilani, who is also a teacher posted at a school in Chirawa and was heading to work at the time, police said.

After the accident, Saini, along with others, took the injured teacher to Birla Public Hospital and informed the police, officials added.

Both vehicles have been impounded, and further investigation is underway. PTI AG OZ OZ
