Meerut (UP), Apr 1 (PTI) The district court complex here received a bomb threat via email and a phone call on Wednesday, which was later declared a hoax after nothing suspicious was found, officials said.
Security agencies conducted a thorough search of court buildings, lawyers’ chambers and adjoining areas, but found nothing incriminating, they said.
Police restricted the entry of the public into the court complex and deployed the bomb disposal squad and dog squad to the spot.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh said that all individuals present at the premises were checked, and CCTV footage was scanned as part of the operation, but no explosive material or suspicious person was detected.
He said a cyber team has been tasked with identifying the source of the threat and tracing the sender of the call and email.
The officer added that similar threats received in the past are also being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. PTI COR CDN APL
