Hyderabad, Apr 1 (PTI) Chicken shop owners held a protest on Wednesday demanding that the suppliers increase their profit margins in view of the rising operative costs.

The retailers, who organised the protest at the Dharna Chowk here, alleged that the suppliers reduced their profit margin by about Rs 10 per kg.

“Our margin should increase every year at least marginally. Our expenditure has increased. We pay all the bills to government. The companies have reduced margins as part of their intention to force the retailers out of business,” a retail shop owner told PTI Videos.

Observing that electricity, water and other costs had increased, he sought a hike in their profit margins as per the changing times. The protest by the retailers led to the closure of shops at several places in the city. PTI SJR SJR KH
