The case was filed on Wednesday against the accused, Hanumant Jadhav, at the Shivajinagar police station.
According to sources, the accused confronted victim Soham Biradar, a student, when he visited the hostel. He attacked the student with a belt. When the victim tried to explain to him that he was looking for accommodation. However, the argument turned into a heated exchange, and Jadhav not only beat him but also forced him to apologise before two girls as seen in the video.
As the video sparked outrage, a police constable filed a complaint on May 14, based on which the case was registered. PTI COR NP
