“The patient is stable and is currently admitted to Vani Vilas Hospital in Kalasipalya, Bengaluru,” he said.
According to health department sources, the baby is from Hoskote in Bengaluru Rural district and was initially admitted to a private hospital.
In a statement issued by the health department, it was noted that of the 35 active Covid-19 cases reported in the state so far, 32 are from Bengaluru.
No Covid-related deaths have been reported.
“Although the situation is well under control, a gradual increase in cases has been observed over the last 20 days. It is therefore appropriate that the public proactively comply with Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour (CAB),” the health department advisory stated.
The advisory further recommended that pregnant women, children, immunocompromised individuals, and those with comorbidities wear face masks when visiting crowded places.
Individuals with symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) are advised to get tested for Covid-19 promptly, for timely treatment and to prevent further spread, officials added. PTI JR SSK ROH
