Ahmedabad, Jan 2 (PTI) The 14th Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026 has set two Guinness World Records for the world’s largest ‘flower mandala’ and largest ‘flower portrait’, drawing praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who described the event as “captivating”.

“Ahmedabad’s flower show is truly captivating for everyone! It is a wonderful example of public participation along with creativity. It beautifully reflects the city’s vibrant spirit as well as its love for nature,” Modi wrote on X, sharing pictures from the event organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

The Bharat Ek Gatha-themed show, inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the Sabarmati Riverfront, achieved the records for the largest flower mandala and a massive flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the AMC said on Thursday.

“With these achievements, the Ahmedabad Flower Show has registered a hat-trick of Guinness World Records for the third consecutive year,” Patel said in a post on X. He recalled that the show created the world’s longest flower structure in 2024 and the world’s largest flower bouquet in 2025.

Emphasising the event’s growing global stature, the chief minister said the flower show has become an unparalleled example of creativity and organisational excellence. “This flower show is not merely a display of flowers, but a grand celebration of India’s cultural heritage, national unity, and the creative power of modern India,” he said, adding that it has given global recognition to World Heritage City Ahmedabad.

According to an official release, entry fees are Rs 80 on weekdays and Rs 100 on weekends and public holidays. Free entry is available for divyangs (PwDs), soldiers, children aged 12 years and below, and students of AMC schools.
