Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has responded to the renewed chatter around a Moradabad event-related dispute, describing it as an “old and settled” matter and alleging that fresh proceedings are being driven by “false allegations.” Her reaction came after reports said a Moradabad court issued a fresh non-bailable warrant in connection with a case linked to an event booking and payment dispute.
Ameesha’s response
In an Instagram Stories message shared and quoted by multiple outlets, Ameesha said the issue is years old, claimed a settlement deed was signed, and asserted the agreed amount had been paid. She also indicated that her legal team would pursue appropriate action against what she called misleading claims.
What the dispute is about
According to reports, the matter relates to a 2017 event booking in Moradabad, where the organiser alleged Ameesha was contracted for a programme (reported as a wedding event), an advance payment was made, and the engagement did not proceed as planned. The organiser further alleged that a refund arrangement followed, but part of the payment became contentious, including a cheque-bounce claim that led to legal proceedings.
Reports also state the court action escalated after Ameesha allegedly did not appear despite summons, prompting the issuance of a non-bailable warrant to secure her presence.
Why it’s in the news again
The issue has resurfaced primarily because the court proceedings have moved forward again, bringing the older dispute back into headlines and social media circulation.
Where things stand
Ameesha’s side maintains the matter was resolved through settlement, while the organiser’s complaint and the court process appear to be continuing. The next steps will depend on court appearance and filings from both sides.
