Andhra govt releases Rs 45 crore towards honoraria for Imams, mouzans

Amaravati, Mar 17 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday released Rs 45 crore to Imams and mouzans across the state as part of the honorarium being extended to them under the NDA regime.

The funds were released on the orders of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the run-up to the Ramzan festival.

“As per Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s orders, Rs 45 crore has been released as honorarium to Imams and mouzans,” said an official press release.

Honoraria pending for six months have been cleared, following Naidu’s participation in the state Iftar on Monday night.

“Sanction of an amount of Rs 45,00,00,000 as additional funds for the purpose of payment of honorarium to Imams and Mouzzains of 5,000 Masjids (mosques) @ Rs15,000 per month to each masjid for the period from October, 2025 to March,2026 (six months) during the current financial year 2025-26,” it said.
