Mumbai, Oct 5 — Popular television actor Anita Hassanandani has been declared the winner of Zee TV’s reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, which concluded its first season this weekend.
Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the show featured 11 celebrity women adapting to rural life in a village setup — performing traditional household chores, taking part in local competitions, and adjusting to minimal comforts. The finale saw Hassanandani triumph over Krishna Shroff, emerging as the top contestant after weeks of emotional and physical challenges.
“This journey has been raw, emotional, humbling and unforgettable. Winning this trophy feels surreal,” Anita said after her win, adding that she plans to support the education of two children she met during the show.
Industry colleagues and fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages, with producer Ektaa Kapoor calling her victory “well-deserved.”
Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, inspired by the Marathi show Jau Bai Gavat, aimed to highlight the resilience of women and bridge the gap between urban glamour and rural simplicity.
