Hyderabad, Feb 17: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday pitched the state as a major biopharma and life sciences investment hub, assuring investors that the government, officials, scientists, skilled youth and local businesses would work as “partners in success”.

Inaugurating BioAsia 2026, Reddy said Telangana is now competing with leading global clusters and highlighted Hyderabad’s growing profile as a preferred destination for global capability centres (GCCs). He invited companies to invest in the state, set up GCC operations, build innovation engines, design molecules and drugs, scale clinical analytics, develop AI platforms and accelerate digital manufacturing.

He said Hyderabad should evolve from being widely known as the vaccine capital of the world to becoming a global life sciences capital. Reddy also referenced the state’s “Telangana Rising 2047” vision, which targets building a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047.

Pointing to current trends in life sciences, the chief minister underlined the need for stronger collaboration among research labs, corporates, startups, MSMEs and the government to create a trusted, stable and future-ready ecosystem.

Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said Telangana is aiming to rank among the world’s top three life sciences clusters by the end of this decade, attract USD 25 billion in investments and create around five lakh high-value jobs. He added that talent development is being strengthened through the Young India Skills University and the Telangana School of Life Sciences, with training in areas such as mRNA technology, gene therapy and AI.
