Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya’s Family Praises Varun Dhawan’s Portrayal After Border 2 Teaser

Varun Dhawan in "Border 2'

The teaser of Border 2, unveiled on December 16, 2025, has ignited patriotic fervor and earned heartfelt praise from the family of Param Vir Chakra awardee Major (later Colonel) Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, whose bravery in the 1971 Indo-Pak War inspires Varun Dhawan’s character. On December 17, 2025, the late Colonel’s son, Colonel Sushil Kumar Dahiya, shared his appreciation: “We just watched the Border 2 teaser, and definitely Varun Dhawan has done justice. The teaser looks very promising, and it’s truly special for me and my family to see our legacy being told with such spirit and sincerity.”

Granddaughter Anushka Dahiya Echoes Pride

Anushka Dahiya, the granddaughter of Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, also took to social media with a glowing shoutout. Posting a photo of Varun Dhawan and Sunny Deol from the teaser launch, she wrote: “We’re all very proud & excited for the film. The hard-work, sincerity, and josh are truly mirrored in the teaser itself!” Her words captured the family’s excitement, emphasizing how the teaser reflects the dedication behind portraying their grandfather’s valor.

Varun’s Role: A Tribute to Unmatched Bravery

In Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar and JP Dutta, Varun Dhawan steps into the shoes of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya (PVC), the fearless officer who led his company to capture Jarpal in the Shakargarh sector despite heavy odds. Sunny Deol reprises his spirit from the 1997 original, joined by Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in this multi-branch tribute to India’s armed forces. The teaser, launched on Vijay Diwas, showcases intense combat and emotional depth, setting the stage for a January 23, 2026, Republic Day release.

A Legacy Honored on Screen

Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, awarded the PVC for extraordinary leadership in 1971, passed away in 1998. His family’s endorsement validates the film’s sincerity, turning personal pride into national anticipation. “Super excited to see the film,” Colonel Sushil Kumar added, wishing the team success.

Patriotism Meets Cinema

The Dahiya family’s praise isn’t endorsement—it’s emotion. As Border 2 honors unsung heroes, it thunders: Can cinema capture courage? Their heartfelt words affirm yes, scripting a tribute where valor vaults eternal in India’s cinematic salute.
