New Delhi, Mar 19 (PTI) In a first, the Delhi Assembly building was lit up with the saffron lighting on Thursday, marking the first day of the auspicious Chaitra Navratri festival.
The Assembly secretariat in a statement said that the historic building wore saffron hues marking the commencement of the Hindu New Year with Navratri, symbolising purity, energy and a fresh beginning.
“On the occasion of the Hindu New Year and the auspicious festival of Navratri, the Delhi Legislative Assembly premises have been illuminated in saffron hues,” Speaker Vijender Gupta said.
The festival reflects a spirit of renewal, devotion and collective celebration, he said, conveying his warm greetings and best wishes to the citizens of Delhi and expressing hope that the year ahead brings peace, prosperity and renewed collective resolve.
The BJP last year won assembly polls grabbing 48 of the 70 seats and returned to power after 26 years in Delhi. PTI VIT VIT KSS KSS
