Disney has officially locked the lead pair for its live-action reimagining of the 2010 animated hit Tangled—with Teagan Croft set to play Rapunzel and Milo Manheim cast as Flynn Rider.
The Announcement Breakdown: Fresh Faces for Iconic Roles
The casting was confirmed by Disney via social media. In the studio’s announcement, Disney wrote: “Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim are Rapunzel and Flynn Rider… Coming only to theaters.”
Croft is best known for playing Rachel Roth/Raven in Titans and was also featured in Netflix’s True Spirit. Manheim is a familiar Disney face from the Zombies franchise and finished runner-up on Season 27 of Dancing With the Stars.
The Creative Team: Musical Magic, Modern Scale
The live-action film will be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) with a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Kristin Burr is producing, with Lucy Kitada attached as executive producer.
Why ‘Tangled’ Still Hits: A Proven Fan-Favourite
The original Tangled (2010)—voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi—followed Rapunzel’s escape from a tower and her chaotic, heartfelt journey with Flynn. The film grossed over $590 million worldwide and later expanded into Tangled Ever After and a Disney Channel series.
What’s Next
A release date is not announced yet. Also, earlier reports have linked Scarlett Johansson to talks around Mother Gothel, but Disney has not confirmed any additional casting.
