Former AAP leader HS Phoolka to join BJP today

New Delhi, Mar 1 (PTI) Senior Supreme Court advocate and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader H S Phoolka is set to join the BJP on Wednesday, sources said.

Phoolka, who is best known for representing 1984 anti-Sikh riots victims in their quest for justice, joined AAP in 2014 and quit it five years later in 2019.

“He will join the BJP here in the presence of senior party leaders,” a source in the party said.

Phoolka contested 2014 Lok Sabha elections as an AAP candidate from Ludhiana in Punjab but lost to Congress’ Ravneet Singh Bittu, now a BJP leader and a Union minister. In 2017, he won the Dhaka assembly seat in Punjab.

Phoolka was leader of opposition in the Punjab assembly for about three months in 2017. He then quit the post to fight 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases in the Delhi High Court. PTI PK PK MIN MIN
