Television actor Jaswir Kaur has revealed that she was unexpectedly asked to leave the iconic crime series CID after working on the show for nearly two years. In a recent interview, the actor described the exit as sudden and emotionally challenging, shedding light on a difficult phase of her career in the television industry.
Kaur, who played the role of Sub-Inspector Kajal in the show, recalled that she had been working continuously on the series and was deeply involved in its demanding production schedule. The show, which first premiered in 1998 and became one of India’s longest-running crime dramas, has been widely loved for its investigative storylines and memorable characters.
According to the actor, she had been shooting consistently every week and sometimes for long stretches without breaks. However, despite her commitment and effort, she was suddenly informed that her character would no longer be part of the show.
Gruelling Work Schedule and Unexpected Decision
Speaking about her time on the series, Kaur recalled the intense shooting schedule she followed while filming for the show. She mentioned that the cast often shot continuously for weeks, sometimes working almost every day.
Despite the hectic routine, the actor said she tried to manage the workload and occasionally requested short breaks to recover from the demanding schedule. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when she was called into the office and told that she would have to leave the show. The abrupt decision left her shocked and confused, especially because she had been regularly shooting for the show until then.

Today, Jaswir Kaur has successfully rebuilt her presence on television and is currently seen in the popular drama Anupamaa. Her role in the show has once again brought her into the spotlight and earned appreciation from audiences.
