Gen V Season 2, the highly anticipated spinoff of The Boys, premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 17, 2025, with three episodes, followed by weekly releases until the finale on October 22, 2025. Filmed in Toronto, Canada, the series follows the aftermath of The Boys Season 4, set at Godolkin University, where young Supes face a new dean, Cipher (Hamish Linklater), and a brewing war between humans and Supes. Announced at CCXP Mexico on May 31, 2025, the season aims to deepen the franchise’s gritty narrative while honoring the late Chance Perdomo, whose character Andre Anderson will not be recast.

Gen V – A New Chapter at Godolkin

The Season 2 trailer, released on May 31, 2025, picks up after The Boys Season 4’s chaotic finale, with Homelander’s iron grip tightening. Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), and Jordan Li (London Thor/Derek Luh) return to Godolkin, burdened by trauma after being framed for Season 1’s campus massacre. Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) and Sam Riordan (Asa Germann), now Homelander’s allies, are celebrated as heroes, while a secret program tied to the university’s founding threatens global implications. The trailer teases a supe-killing virus and Cipher’s sinister curriculum to turn students into soldiers.

Cast and Tributes to Perdomo

Returning stars include Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, who demands answers about his son Andre’s fate, addressing Perdomo’s real-life death in a March 2024 motorcycle accident. Hamish Linklater joins as the “charismatic yet scary” Dean Cipher, with crossovers from The Boys featuring Chace Crawford (The Deep) and Valorie Curry (Firecracker). New recurring actors include Keeya King, Julia Knope, and Tait Fletcher. Showrunner Michele Fazekas reworked the season to honor Perdomo, with Eric Kripke telling Variety, “It’s a tribute in many ways.”

Production Challenges and Crossover Stakes

Filming, delayed from April to May 2024 due to Perdomo’s passing, wrapped in November 2024. Kripke confirmed to ScreenRant that the season, now in post-production, picks up days after The Boys Season 4, setting up the franchise’s final chapter in 2026.

A Pivotal Franchise Moment

Gen V Season 2, with its eight episodes, promises to amplify The Boys’ universe, blending gore, satire, and emotional depth. Kripke’s March 2025 X post claimed it’s “better than Season 1,” raising expectations for a release that bridges to The Boys Season 5. As fans await answers about Marie’s fate and Andre’s legacy, Gen V Season 2 is poised to be a thrilling, heart-wrenching addition to the franchise.
