Goa, Bengal, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand win

Ranchi, Apr 2 (PTI) Goa, Bengal, Chandigarh and Uttarakhand won their respective matches on the second day of the Sub Junior Women’s National Hockey Championship here on Thursday.

Goa beat Telangana 6-3 in a Division C Pool A match, Bengal defeated Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu 1-0 in Division B Pool A game, while Chandigarh crushed Gujarat 12-1 in a Division B Pool B match.

Uttarakhand got the better of Karnataka 6-1 in another Division B Pool B match.

Captain Dellina Mendes (40th minute, 41st) and Bertila Kerketta (48th, 52nd) scored a brace each for Goa, while Seema Tirkey (3rd) and Vidya Kumari (16th) also contributed with goals.

Anandi Mahanand (30th, 36th) and Navyashri Akula (15th) were the the scorers for Telangana.

For Bengal, captain Puja Kumari Shaw (21st) scored the winning goal in the second quarter.

Chandigarh captain Kafi (38th, 46th, 55th, 60th), Annu (9th, 30th), Aanchal (12th, 14th), Nancy Kashyap (13th, 18th), Bhawana (10th) and Yasmin Sharma (20th) scored the goals for Chandigarh. Skipper Niyati Parmar (23rd) scored the lone goal for Gujarat.

Uttarakhand saw Kareena (10th, 12th, 17th) scored an early hat-trick for her side while captain Minakshi (7th), Devyani Joshi (53rd) and Diya (60th) also contributed with goals. Preeti Neelaraddi (31st) was the only scorer for Karnataka. PTI AH AH PDS PDS
