Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane announced on X that the facility has reopened.
“After a brief closure as a precautionary measure, Bondla Zoo has reopened for visitors starting Wednesday, following confirmation from NIHSAD (National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases), Bhopal, that samples (from the zoo) have tested negative for avian influenza,” he said.
Rane said all necessary biosecurity protocols were followed during this period.
“According to the protocols of the Central Zoo Authority, the zoo could only reopen after two consecutive negative test reports for avian influenza were received,” said officials. PTI RPS NR
