In a recent revelation on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, it was disclosed that in 2011, Google offered Indian-American executive Neal Mohan a staggering $100 million in stock grants to prevent him from leaving the company to join Twitter, now known as X. At that time, Twitter was aggressively seeking a new Chief Product Officer and had extended an offer to Mohan. However, Google intervened with a counteroffer that solidified Mohan’s commitment to the company .

Neal Mohan’s Journey to Google

After earning his degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, Mohan began his professional journey at Accenture. He then joined NetGravity, a digital advertising company, which was later acquired by DoubleClick in 1999. In February 2023, Mohan succeeded Susan Wojcicki as the CEO of YouTube. Under his leadership, YouTube has continued to expand its offerings, focusing on enhancing user experience and supporting content creators.
