Speaking on the HindiRush podcast, Vinay openly rebuked the speculation, calling it “foolish” and stressing that Govinda remains one of the most celebrated stars of his generation, noting that at the peak of his career in the 1990s, the actor commanded huge fees often running into crores of rupees per film. Even now, Vinay pointed out, Govinda can reportedly earn ₹25–30 lakh simply for making an appearance at an event, a figure that contradicts the narrative of financial distress.

Addressing social media trolls directly, Vinay didn’t mince words. He questioned how anyone could equate Govinda’s storied legacy spanning over 70–80 films at the height of his career with claims that he had fallen onto hard times or was “on the streets.” In his view, a few misleading clips or rumours should not define the public perception of one of Bollywood’s most enduring entertainers.
The controversy gained traction after moments from recent appearances surfaced online, including a video of the star dancing at a school function, which some misinterpreted as a sign of financial necessity.
