Delhi is set to host the first edition of the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) from March 25 to 31, 2026, with the Delhi government projecting it as a major step toward positioning the national capital as a global hub for cinema, cultural exchange, and storytelling. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled the festival’s curtain-raiser/logo at an official event on February 25, 2026.
The festival will be organised at prominent venues including Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), with screenings and sessions planned across multiple venues in the city.
Key Highlights of IFFD 2026
- 125+ Films: The programme will screen more than 125 Indian and international films, including premieres and special screenings.
- Industry Focus: Alongside public screenings, the festival will host masterclasses, panel discussions, workshops, and industry-facing platforms such as the CineXchange Film Market and CineVerse Expo to enable networking and business opportunities.
- Submissions (clarification): Entries were routed via FilmFreeway with a listed submission deadline of February 21, 2026; FilmFreeway also lists March 5, 2026 as the notification date.
Officials have described IFFD as aligned with Delhi’s film policy and envisioned as a longer-term cultural initiative rather than a closed-door industry event.
