Davos, Jan 20 (PTI): Tech giant Cisco has reaffirmed India’s importance as a strategic market and announced plans to continue investing in the country, said Jeetu Patel, the company’s President and Chief Product Officer, during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting here.
“Going ahead, India is a very strategic region for us and we have experienced tremendous growth over there,” Patel told PTI. He highlighted that India hosts the largest concentration of Cisco employees outside the US and that the company is increasingly moving some manufacturing to India, citing its Chennai facility launched last year.
Patel said Cisco is committed to keeping India at the centre of its global growth strategy. “So, I think that India is a very strategic part of the world for us and we want to continue to keep investing in India,” he said.
Noting India’s strong public-private partnership culture, Patel said Cisco has been fortunate to collaborate closely with the government. “Our goal is to continue to serve the best technologies that America produces, so they can have the best ability for generating tokens for AI,” he added.
Cisco works across multiple industries in India and intends to expand these collaborations. “It’s one of our most strategic regions as we move forward,” Patel said, emphasizing the company’s long-term commitment to the country.
