ISRO to begin 2026 with PSLV-C62 launch carrying EOS-N1 satellite on Jan 12

Bengaluru, Jan 7 (PTI) ISRO will open its 2026 launch calendar with the PSLV-C62 mission scheduled for January 12 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

“The launch of PSLV-C62 Mission is scheduled on 12 January 2026 at 10:17 hrs IST from First Launch Pad (FLP), SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota,” ISRO said in a post on X.

The primary payload of the mission is EOS-N1, a strategic imaging satellite developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), an ISRO official said.

The rocket will also carry the Kestrel Initial Demonstrator (KID), a small probe developed by a Spain-based startup. The probe will remain attached to the PS-4 stage of the launch vehicle.

In addition, the mission will deploy 17 commercial payloads from startups and research institutions across India, Mauritius, Luxembourg, the UAE, Singapore, Europe and the United States, sources said.

ISRO said members of the public can watch the launch from the Launch View Gallery at SDSC SHAR by registering online at lvg.shar.gov.in.

Visitors have been advised to keep their Aadhaar card, driving licence or any government-issued ID, along with a mobile number and email ID, ready to ensure smooth registration. PTI GMS ROH
