
Ranchi, Dec 15 (PTI) — Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren met Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green OAM, on Sunday to discuss investment opportunities in the state and enhancing mine security, officials said.
The discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Green, accompanied by First Secretary Tom Sanderford and other officials, was briefed by Soren on Jharkhand’s rich natural resources and the state’s investment policies.
Soren shared his vision of transforming Jharkhand from a labour-based economy to a knowledge-driven one and assured full cooperation to take the partnership forward. Green noted the similarities between Jharkhand and Australia in the mining sector, highlighting the use of advanced technologies for mine safety and sustainable practices, and invited the chief minister to visit Australia.
